01 / THE SURVIVOR
He wasn’t
built for
greatness.
He just forgot to die.
SOMEWHERE BEHIND THE FRIDGE.
Warm pipes.
Dropped noodles.
Absolutely no rent.
That was the whole plan. Then the sirens started. The power went out. The radio announced there would be no more announcements.
When the dust settled, one bent antenna appeared beneath the shutter. Then two half-closed eyes.
“You gonna eat that?”
No bunker. No prophecy. No secret survival trick. He’d been looking for the other half of a cracker.
The world had ended.
His lunch break hadn’t.
